Handmade iron plant stakes and decorative pieces for the home and garden

Amazon Iron is a Calgary based company that designs and fabricates handmade iron plant supports and decorative pieces for the garden and container gardens. All of our designs are made with raw iron, which will develop a beautiful rich brown patina. This means that Amazon Iron stakes are maintenance-free.

Landscaping/yard maintenance companies use our products to increase profit, design possibilities and client satisfaction by incorporating our products into the landscape at the time of installation, thereby providing a more finished result.

All products are hand-made creations. As such, wonderfully unique variations not only occur - they are desirable.

After spending a decade selling Amazon Iron to her clients, Val Wilson, owner of Garden Essentials (a garden care specialist company), fully believed that everyone should be able to enjoy its beauty in their gardens. So in 2010, she bought the company.

Wilson is a valued member of the Calgary Horticultural Society (CHS) and has shared her ideals with the community through teaching many of the Society's workshops and providing her expertise through the "ask an expert" sessions at various venues over the past 10 years.

When asked why she bought Amazon Iron the reply was simple ...She stands by the product - believing that they are the best plant stakes available on the market today.

We encourage using the slogan "Buy Local" - it speaks of the global understanding of sustainability. The dedication and vision of the previous owners was brilliant - a sustainable and decorative product, a product created for every plant conceivable for Calgary gardens. We aim to continue this vision and build on its excellence.

All of our suppliers are local as well. Providing Calgary and area retailers with quality product produced locally speaks to merchants who are living this mantra themselves.
